Program Overview

The program embodies not only the engineering and scientific technologies underlying the profession, but also the statutory and regulatory framework in which they are embedded, social and policy considerations that are critically important in modern society, and management tools needed to get the job done. Includes protection of air quality, water quality management, hazardous and solid waste management, environmental auditing, environmental impact assessment, benefit-cost analysis, risk assessment and management, energy auditing, environmental and energy policy analysis, geographic information systems, and other related subjects.

Doctor of Science

The program of study is individually tailored for each student and designed to provide the student with the capability to perform substantive research.

 
     
 

Masters of Science

The program of study consists of 12 graduate level courses totaling 36 credit hours. Three types of course requirements are included in the curriculum -- common course requirements, focus course requirements, and approved electives. Common course requirements are taken by all students in the EMSE Master's program. Focus course requirements are taken by all students within the area of focus. Approved elective requirements are courses that require the approval of the student's individual academic advisor. These courses are detailed below.
